“The U.S. is being tested more than ever in our determination to protect human rights and ensure peace and security for the people of Kashmir,” said Pallone. “I will face these challenges head on with you by continuing to advocate for the basic liberties, rights and individual freedoms of all Hindus here on Capitol Hill.”

In support of the Hindu American Foundation’s work, Congressman Pallone recently introduced the resolution that would recognize that the religious freedom and human rights violations of Kashmiri Pandits have been ongoing since 1989.

“I introduced this resolution because I believe it’s important for the United States’ government to officially recognize these events, which would draw attention to this important issue,” said Pallone.

The resolution condemns the extremist violence, lack of religious freedom, and human rights violations committed against Kashmiri Pandits.  It also insists that terrorist infrastructure in the region must be dismantled and terrorists should be held accountable for their actions.
