Dear Sir

Subject: “Kashmir Fruits of Discord” by Arundhati Roy Nov 9, 2010

Since August 2008 Ms Roy has been actively working with the civilian wing of LeT (Lashkar-Toiba) and Jaish-i- Mohammed, brutal Islamic terrorist organizations, in order to provide a respectable face to them in the global media. These organizations have the blood of thousands of Kashmiri Hindus (Pandits) and secular Muslims on their hands. During the last two decades, at the behest of Pakistan’s ISI and its surrogates in Kashmir valley, they have forced 350,000 Kashmiri Hindus to flee in one of the largest atrocities of ethnic cleansing in modern times. Presently their temples and religious places are systematically being burned and vandalized by the supporters of these outfits.

It is indeed sad and unfortunate that 110 young men have recently died in Kashmir valley while enforcing mandated shutdowns and curfew at the behest of Ms Roy’s friend and mentor Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a leader of pro-Pakistani faction of Hurriyat. In an interview with Asha Khosa (Rediff.com) on August 25, 2008, Mr. Geelani expounded on his plans for Kashmir. He said “I have a three point target first to impose Islamic Nizam (jurisprudence) in Kashmir. Islam should govern our political thought, socio economic plans, culture and ongoing movement. The creed of socialism and secularism should not touch our lives and must totally be governed by Koran and Sunnat (precedents from Prophet Mohammed’s life).”

Ms. Roy is a well known Hindu phobic, India baiting, communist who has never taken the time to visit any Hindu refugee camps in India to see how the off-springs of Kashmir Hindu Civilization are dying a slow death in the face of brutal Islamic terrorism. She is also quite ignorant of the history and geography of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmir Valley forms less than 10% of its territory. In Jammu Hindus form a majority and in Ladakh Buddhist are the majority. In the name of Azadi (freedom) Mr. Geelani would surely like to engineer exodus of these populations so that to impose his three point plan of Islamization in Kashmir.

Let us hope secular and plural nations around the world along with President Obama will never allow Mr. Geelani’s vision to become a reality. I hope thousands of Kashmiri Pandits (Hindus) will soon return to their erstwhile homes to live side by side with majority Muslims so that the flames of ancient Hindu and Buddhist culture in Kashmir are not permanently extinguished.
