Indo-American Kashmir Forum expresses its heartfelt condolences to all those families who lost their friends and family members in this terrible tragedy. At least 4 Americans lost their lives. One Jewish couple from New York, who helped serve their Jewish community in the Chabad House in Mumbai, was killed by terrorists during the hostage crisis, tragically leaving their two-year old son without parents. IAKF also salutes all those brave Indian security forces men and women who valiantly laid down their lives fighting for their nation during this ugly episode.

This terrorist act is just the most recent in a string of attacks being launched in India in the past few years. By attacking famous hotels, frequently visited by Indians as well as Westerners, and a Jewish religious Center, the Islamic terrorists have thrown a direct challenge to India as well as Western nations. This is another proof of Islamic terrorism relentlessly targeting innocent human beings in the name of jihad all across the world.

Due to the well-planned and coordinated nature of this attack, the perpetrators are likely part of a large, well-funded organization with international support.

At least 12 terrorists have been killed, but many more are felt to have been involved. By targeting tourist sites likely to attract Westerners, the home-grown Indian terrorists have truly globalized their jihadist struggle.

Indo-American Kashmir Forum calls upon the Government of India to handle this growing menace of Islamic terrorism that has extended far beyond the borders of the state of Jammu & Kashmir. It is known that Kashmiri terrorist-based groups, including the Lashkar-e-Taiba, have stated in their manifestos that they will stop short of nothing other than the destruction of India, not just the separation of Kashmir. India's home-grown terrorist groups receive physical and moral support from these Kashmiri terrorist groups.
